Astralux LTD/New Wind Turbine

Astralux LTD, was established in 2009 specializing in wind energy technology and manufacturing.

New Wind Turbine has developed over nine different types of wind turbines (VAWT). This number is quite impressive, as most manufacturers in this industry have rolled out only a few. They have five residential, one industrial, and three utility turbines.

Their newest innovation is the vertical axis solar and wind generator on magnetic levitation. This wind turbine converts the wind energy from the base of the air acceptor and the up-rising air flow comes from a warm surface into electrical energy using the air pressure distance. This VAWT can produce electricity starting at 2 m/s creating a steady flow of energy. It doesn’t matter what the strength of the winds are, nor what part of the country you reside in, this VAWT works in high and low wind areas. These were created for those high-rise buildings, building complexes, and government agencies that top the city lines of major cities throughout the world.

  • Power on wind speed of 2 m/s – 0.4 kW
  • Materials – aluminum, steel, concrete and composite plastics
  • Turbine does not require careful maintenance, repair and preservation during its entire lifetime.

Vertical Axis Wind Turbine (VAWT) 100kw – (Office buildings, residential units and condominiums)

This turbine can produce enough energy to power 15-25 homes.

  • Total height – at least 22 m
  • Rotor height – 12 m
  • Rotor diameter – 24 m
  • Area occupied – 1,630 sq. m.
  • Minimal working speed – 1.5 m/s
  • Nominal working speed – 9.5 m/s
  • Power on wind speed of 2 m/s- 0.7 kW
  • Materials – aluminum, steel, concrete and composite plastics
  • Turbine does not require careful maintenance, repair and preservation during its entire lifetime

Vertical Axis Wind Turbine (VAWT) (High-rise buildings and residential)

This turbine not only produces electrical energy, but it also cleans and removes exhausted air out of the building.

Industrial Turbines

Vertical Axis Wind Turbine (VAWT) 1MW (Wind farms both on and off shore)

  • Total height – at least 90 m
  • Rotor height – 50 m
  • Rotor diameter – 100 m
  • Area occupied- 28,300 sq. m.
  • Minimal working speed – 1.5 m/s
  • Nominal working speed – 9.5 m/s
  • Power on wind speed of 2 m/s – 11 kW
  • Materials – aluminum, steel, concrete and composite plastics
  • Turbine does not require careful maintenance, repair and preservation during its entire lifetime

Vertical Axis Wind Turbine (VAWT) 5MW (Electricity producers and wind farms)

This Axis is capable of producing approximately 17 GWh of power a year potentially providing over 1500 homes with electricity. The axis has a self-regulating rotor that can manage the stability of it speed.

  • Total height – at least 142 m
  • Rotor height- 90 m
  • Rotor diameter – 180 m
  • Area occupied – 91,650 sq. m.
  • Minimal working speed – 2 m/s
  • Nominal working speed – 10.5 m/s
  • Materials – aluminum, steel, concrete and composite plastics
  • Turbine does not require careful maintenance, repair and preservation during its entire lifetime

Vertical Axis Wind Turbine (VAWT) 10MW (Large industrial wind farms)

It produces a rated power of 10 MW at a wind flow speed of 9.5 m/s and a rated power of 39 MW at a wind flow speed of 15 m/s. This VAWT has the least electricity cost compared to the other types.

  • Total height – 230 m
  • Rotor height – 130 m
  • Rotor diameter – 260 m
  • Area occupied – 191,500 sq. m.
  • Minimal working speed – 1.5 m/s
  • Nominal working speed – 9.5 m/s
  • Power on wind speed of 2 m/s – 90 kW
  • Materials – aluminum, steel, concrete and composite plastics
  • Turbine does not require careful maintenance, repair and preservation during its entire lifetime

Vertical Axis Wind Turbine (VAWT) 20MW (Largest yet -2015 it will be released)

This axis can provide electricity to over 6,000 homes on its own.

  • Total height – at least 270 m
  • Rotor height – 150 m
  • Rotor diameter – 300 m
  • Area occupied – 254,600 sq. m.
  • Minimal working speed – 1.5 m/s
  • Nominal working speed – 9.5 m/s
  • Power on wind speed of 2 m/s- 97 kW
  • Materials – aluminum, steel, concrete and composite plastics
  • Turbine does not require careful maintenance, repair and preservation during its entire lifetime

As you can see from all the different options of VAWT, Astalux Ltd is thinking “outside the box.” They are manufacturing wind turbines that are safe, environmentally friendly and made with recyclable materials.
